Pedestal Drop Boxes are widely used by small businesses, organizations, and homeowners who desire a privately accessible drop box near their location or home. These boxes are for commercial and private access only and are NOT approved for US Postal Service mail delivery. Our product line, along with a variety of customizable options, can meet every need of our customers. Since all of our drop boxes have the same height and depth, the important size difference is the width of the unit. Model #4275 is 15-3/4'' wide, model #4276 is 23'' wide and model #4277 is 30-1/4'' wide. The user can access the drop box via a master door(s) that is located in the rear of the unit. The doors open by over 90 degrees to allow the user to easily remove his/her letters or documents. All drop boxes have a locking "T" handle on the rear door(s) for convenience, a weather protection hood, and a mail flap on the front of the unit as standard equipment.
Pedestal Drop Boxes can be ordered with a variety of options and/or configurations. They can be custom ordered with a front or rear door or both. The drop box can have a larger slot or it can be made without the traditional slot. Standard slot sizes are 12, 18, and 20 inches in width depending on the model selected. All slot sizes are 2 inches in height. It can also be manufactured with multiple compartments. Units can be customized to meet almost any customer specified requirement. Placards can also be requested and custom engraved for the customer. The drop boxes have four standard colors to choose from - gray, white, blue, and primer – however custom colors can be requested. The pedestal is NOT included as part of the unit and must be ordered separately.
Our Pedestal Drop Boxes feature a durable powder coated finish that protects the metal from rust and/or oxidation for decades. Powder coating is an advanced technological process for applying a protective coating onto a metal surface. This process is based on creating opposite electrical charges on the metal and the protective material. This process is usually referred to as an electrostatic process. Once the protective material is "attracted" to and has "bonded" with the metal it is then heated to form a more permanent bond that evenly covers every part of the metal surface. The two principle categories of protective material are called thermosets and thermoplastics which are more commonly known as polyester, polyester-epoxy (known as hybrid), straight epoxy, and acrylics.
The powder coated finish on our Pedestal Drop Boxes has a number of important advantages over traditional protection methods such as paint. First, this is a much "greener" process. The protective material does not contain solvents and emits very little or no volatile organic compounds. Also, the overspray or excess protective material can be recollected and reused resulting in virtually no waste and almost 100% of the protective material being used. The entire process uses far less hazardous waste than other conventional liquid protective coatings such as paint. The powder coating is also thicker, more durable, and will last far longer than more traditional coatings. Therefore the product itself will have a longer life. And finally, powder coatings usually cost less than other conventional liquid protective coatings.
