Once upon a time fashion was considered as exclusively feminine thing. Men in so far as fashion only cares about it in a utilitarian perspective- maybe save for the nobility before since clothing is an essential part of their identity. But times have changed. Before the only consideration for shirt sizes is if its width and length is enough or exact for the person to move about comfortably. But it has become a major consideration for men nowadays. For instance, there was a time when shirts have to be just right for the body. And then suddenly baggy and lose ones has become the thing. And lately, fitted shirts have been popular to show the physique of a person. But fashion per se, is not just the reason for these different trends. Sometimes, it's also affected by the preferences of the person wearing it. Like for example, rappers and those who like this genre tends to imitate the baggy styles of shirts that rappers wear. For those who love going to gyms, fitted shirts are the hot thing for them since they get to show their buff bodies. Also, it can also be affected by the profession of the person- like models, artists and actors.

Shirts can be worn as the base layer in clothing, but it can also be the only thing that men wear. Most importantly, shirts can show vanity, tastes, preferences, image and belief.
