What are unmotivational posters? You've probably seen dozens of these without even realizing that they are demotivational collaterals. These posters are bleak, ironic, wacky, may be offensive and can actually have a hint of reality that will make you cringe before you can laugh if you still can. That's why they also call it anti-inspirational poster because they are the exact opposite of those posters that boost your ego and may even lead you to burst in laughter. These posters are more like a slap on the face, bluntly put. It is really tricky to produce a poster that will be acceptable to all given the different cultural backgrounds and levels of understanding. How do you know if you crossed the line? Basically, when your product cease to inspire and make someone one laugh, it's a sign that your poster is nearing the borderline of good taste, gutsy or plain nasty. Topics that pertain to race and religion are often the main taboos but still a lot of people are drawn to this type of humor. Believe it or not, there is also a large market for unmotivational posters. Whether they are more realistic or harboring sadistic thoughts, the market for these posters are really growing in numbers. Basing on the number of webpage hits and mass production of posters with a darker theme, these statistics reflect not just the innate curiosity of people but the desire to entertain their dark sides as well. Some may actually enjoy the misfortunes of others and can cleverly put these onto a poster for public viewing. Several images also depict historical figures, personalities and events. One can easily create their own version by logging on to websites that offer downloadable images and formatting tools that make you an on the spot designer. You can customize the elements however you please. But if you want a clean, realistic subject matter, you can start by getting an inoffensive image and devising a good tag line for your picture. Remember that images should be original or at least free for you to use to avoid copyright complications. And also be reminded that these posters should only be satirical motivational or anti-inspirational posters and nothing more. Besides, a good balance of such collaterals is relatively acceptable. If you look at some of the sample demotivational posters online, a lot are humorous. Most are tastefully done and are simply reflecting the obvious realities. The punch line is the one delivering the theme which basically says "reality bites". The image is not always what they seem; the tag line delivers the harsh reality. Whether you are interested at creating motivational or unmotivational posters, websites for this purpose are growing in numbers. Not only can people explore their creative side, they also want to be heard according to what they think reality is and not by the Disney side of life. Whether you create or download this type of poster, if you have it, you are solely responsible for it.
