You recently had your first date with someone. You have your date's number and you are eager to thank him or her for the date. Daters should remember that the first call is also crucial as this is the continuation of your first date. Firsts are always on an edgy state so you have to still take note of all your actions.
Below are tips you can practice and put to mind when calling after the first date:
Thank your date. It is customary that the first call should contain the thank you message about your first date together. But it would also be nice to send a text message right after you had the first date just to remind your date that you appreciate all the time and effort with him/her. Hint: Keep your "thank you" short and sweet.
(Guys) Wait for two days before calling. Give it time before calling you date. You do not want to have an impression that you are too eager to talk to her over the phone. However, taking too much time before talking with you date is not nice too. It will show that you are not that interested. A two-day wait is just fine.
Observe time during the first call. Daters should not spend too much time talking over the first call. You don't want to give your date the impression that you are too needy to talk to each other. Remember that if you got all the signs right, there are still a lot of time to talk about things.
Practice what to say. Before even calling, take some time to practice the things you are going to say. This is to avoid stammering on the phone. It is best to have a list of the things you want to say to your ate so you are prepared.
Always smile. Smiling even over the phone can reflect that you are happy to talk to your date. You will know what I mean and will see the difference once you do this.
Leaving messages on an answering machine. If you have attempted to call your date a few times and only receives answering machine on the other line, then this is a bad sign. Do not attempt to call your date again if this happens. It is enough to leave one message and that is it.
Calling your date over and over again. Do not call your date a few times in one day or even call him/her every day. This will have an impression that you are drooling over him/her. Do not make things too fast. Just stay casual and let things flow.
Too much text. Sending too many texts messages too can ruin everything. As said before, take your time by not sending any impression that you are too eager to talk or be with your date.
Many excuses. If your date always say a lot of excuses for not calling you or calling back at you, chances are that they are not interested. Just forget the whole thing and move on to your next date.
Don't expect too much. Not everything you wanted is for you. So if you thought you had a great time together, but there is no call after, just be prepared. Do not expect too much. This way, you won't hurt badly.
