Several years ago, I was having a conversation with my nephew about meeting and dating women. Being recently divorced, he was confused about the dating game. As we were sitting down to a casual dinner, he proceeded to explain.
What he said was nothing I haven't heard before. Why is it that women tend to be attracted to men that are obviously jerks? He continued, and when I go out to parties or clubs, I'm always very polite and cordial. I ask the girls if they would like a drink or would like to dance, or whatever. Things seem to go good, but that's about as far as it goes. I really want to meet women and have a great relationship with them. I always try to be polite! But they don't seem to appreciate it.
While I'm out at the clubs or parties, I'll notice other guys are loud, seemingly impolite, laughing loudly, and dancing with several different women. The women are always around them. I can't help but think, what do these women see in him?
Also, when I'm sitting with some of my women coworkers at lunch, I'll over hear them saying things like, he sure is loud and embarrassing, all he ever does is talk about himself, or, he's always flirting. I don't understand it. These are the same guys the women seem to like. What am I doing wrong?
I just told my nephew that he was being too nice. He couldn't believe what I just said. But I said it again. You're being too nice. You're trying too hard. Don't chase them, attract them. You need to attract the opposite sex. You need to show them that you have confidence. You need to exude confidence. Don't just show confidence. You need to project it. Some call it the power of attraction.
My nephew is not in the guy going through this, when it comes to dating. They will date several women, and they just can't seem to get past that first date. Or they can't seem to meet women at social gatherings. In most cases they're just trying too hard to be polite and be the gentleman. There's nothing wrong with being the perfect gentlemen. But you have to do it with confidence.
I like to use old movies to prove a point. Think about Rhett Butler, in Gone With The Wind. I know it's a very old movie, but love and war never change. Anyway, if you've ever seen the movie, you'll notice that Rhett Butler is a very confident person. He acts like the whole world revolves around him. But he was the most desirable man around! Why? Because he exuded that confidence with a capital C!
So if you're meeting and dating women, always exude confidence. Remember, don't just show it, project it. Think about this. What's the first thing that a good salesperson does before visiting their prospects? He assumes the sale. To put it another way, he projects the confidence that he will get the sale.
Remember, don't take dating too seriously. Have fun, and be confident. That reminds me about some lyrics from an old song? Girls just wanna have fun! Keep that in mind the next time your out there projecting super confidence. It's time to put a little romance in your life!
