Those baby showers centerpieces! Everyone seems to want to outdo what was used as a centerpiece at the previous baby shower. It is how it goes, you all get at the stage where everyone is having a bay and it is the one party after the other!
With all the gifts you have to buy for all these parties, and all the costs of hosting one for your best friend, you really cannot spend a lot of money on your centerpiece. So now you have to find ideas for baby showers centerpieces that are easy and quick yet cheap!
The first thing you have to ask yourself is, why does your centerpiece have to be so exceptional? Isn't the whole idea to make the baby shower table look festive? So, if it is not THAT original, who is going to care?
OK, now we have narrowed it down to its essential function, baby showers centerpieces have to give the table a festive look and no more. It is not an originality competition!
The next thing you have to think about now is the kind of baby shower you are giving and what the seating arrangements will be. If you are going to serve the food buffet style, than you can go with one big centerpiece to place on the table. If you are having a sit down meal, the size of the table will play a very big role. You cannot place an enormous centerpiece on a relatively small table where a lot of people have to sit and eat their food!
So, now your ideas for baby showers centerpieces have been narrowed down even further, the size of the table and the seating arrangement have to be kept in mind as well.
Now we can get down to a few practical alternatives. For a sit down meal, a diaper cake will always be a good idea. The size of the diaper cake can very easily be adjusted to fit the size of the table. Alternatively, you can wrap separate diapers in the form of a cracker. Place a small favor in the diaper before you roll it with a note that the favor is for the guest, but that the diaper has to go to the mommy-to-be!
If you are using the diapers for the favors and so not still want to make a diaper cake, you can always make an arrangement of dry sticks and grass with baby items thread through them. Or you can make a traditional flower arrangement with flowers from your garden and add some baby items to give it the "baby" feel.
This will depend entirely on your budget. Diapers are not all that cheap any more and if you are going to use a lot of diapers it can turn out costly. Flowers though, are also very expensive and if you do not have any in your garden buying flowers make also work out very expensive. Going with the sticks and grass, especially during the fall, may be the cheapest idea. Of course all the baby items go to the mommy afterward and it can be your contribution to the gifts of the baby shower.
