Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the piano? Most people find that the most challenging part for any beginner is conquering the piano chords and scales. A "piano chord" is achieved simply enough when multiple notes are played at the same time. These chords are then used in sequences to create a melody, and ultimately this melody becomes beautiful music. So don't be intimidated by the chords, you need them! When your skill level begins to increase, you will encounter a number of different piano chords and scales. It is important to embrace them and get comfortable playing them. Because, the more comfortable you feel with them, the wider variety of music you can enjoy playing. And furthermore, when writing your own music, not only will you need to be able to identify individual notes, but put them together into chords. You can find many courses at your library and online to help you learn how to play the piano. Learning new piano chords and scales is something you can discuss with your private instructor, if you are fortunate enough to have one. He or she can design specific exercises to help you. Either way, this mastery of piano chords is what distinguishes many budding pianist from their peers. One thing is for sure, there is a level playing field learning piano chords and scales. Since every piano has exactly 88 keys, success (or the lack thereof) really boils down to practice. For example, how long does it take you to think of what keys to press when sending an email, or posting on your blog? Not only that, but you can press the right key to create upper case and lower case as well without even looking! While you might not realize it, it took lots of "practice" to be able to do that. Likewise, on the piano you begin to realize which keys make a certain chord. Without even looking, you will begin to form those chords. And while you are learning how to play the piano, you will cover some basic chords and begin to recognize their unique sound when you hear it. As you continue, you will begin to identify individual chords immediately by ear. Now, more than ever you can find many ways to help you to learn the piano chords and scales. In addition to a private instructor, there are many online courses that offer ebooks, tutorials, videos (which I find most helpful), and interactive online exercises. The most imiportant thing is to recognize the distinct sound of each chord. Try to become familiar with the individual tone each chord produces. This skill alone will help you progress your piano proficiency faster than anything else you can do. To become a pianist, one must demonstrate a proficiency in playing all of the piano chords and scales. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts. However, it does get easier with practice. While it may require patience, there is no substitute for the ability to command the piano chords and scales. Don't be intimidated! Hang in there you can do it!
